Defining Moments
I once worked with a couple facing the aftermath of a traumatic experience that blurred the lines between betrayal, guilt, grief, and love. The pain they carried was layered and complex, and for a time, it seemed impossible to find a way through.
Over the course of our work, as trust grew and they found the courage to face their story together, something shifted. In one session, it was as if a dam finally broke. Tears came, and with them, release. What had once been tangled in shame, confusion and pain began to open into understanding, compassion, and tenderness.
That moment stays with me because it reminds me of what I believe most: that love, when it is honest and brave, has the power to turn pain into something sacred.
My View on Therapy
Therapy, at its best, is an experience of being seen and understood at the deepest level. I believe healing happens through connection — the kind that restores safety, helps us rediscover who we are, and invites us to show up more fully with the people that matter most.
My work is built on the idea that emotion is a doorway, not a disruption. When we can safely explore what we feel and what it’s trying to tell us, real transformation becomes possible. Whether I’m working with a couple in crisis, a family navigating change, or an individual rebuilding trust with themselves, my goal is the same: to help people find courage, clarity, and closeness again.
My Therapeutic Style
Clients often describe me as steady, intuitive, and direct in a way that feels safe. I am not afraid to name what I see or to sit in the difficult spaces with my clients until something shifts. I bring a balance of compassion and challenge, helping people understand not just what’s happening, but why, and what needs to happen next.
I believe the best therapy is collaborative. You bring your story; I bring the framework and presence to help you make sense of it. Together, we build a process that helps you move toward genuine, lasting change.
Professional Background
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Sexual Recovery Therapist (SRT), and Certified EFT Therapist and Supervisor-in-Training through the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). My work integrates advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and years of specialized experience in helping individuals and couples heal from infidelity, addiction, and relational trauma.
Over the past decade, I have worked with hundreds of clients seeking to rebuild trust, repair connection, and rediscover a sense of safety and belonging in their relationships. I founded Family Strong early in my career with a vision to create a practice rooted in compassion, excellence, and connection. Since then, I have had the privilege training and supervising clinicians who share my passion for attachment-focused, emotionally attuned care.
What to Expect in Our Work Together
I believe change happens through honesty, emotional safety, and consistent practice — the same ingredients that strengthen any meaningful relationship. Together, we’ll build those foundations and move toward the kind of connection that sustains you long after therapy ends.
Outside the Office
When I’m not in session, I’m often spending time with my wife and kids, watching movies, playing sports, or getting outside when I can. I’m a Colorado native, the oldest brother of two sisters, and someone who still finds deep joy in gathering with family. Those everyday moments, the ones that feel simple and real, keep me centered on what matters most.
