Starting the Connection

We know it can be daunting to start therapy, even if you’ve done it before. It takes courage to make a first call. We want to help make the process as comfortable as possible. The most important aspect of successful and effective therapy is the relationship between you and your therapist. Trusting, liking and feeling comfortable with your therapist are essential components in an effective therapeutic relationship. We want to make sure you are matched with a therapist that fits you. To give you an idea of our process, we’ve listed the steps to starting therapy below. Here’s what it looks like…

Call, email or message us

Call us directly, send us an email or fill out the contact form. We do our best to reply to you within one business day. We offer a free phone consultation. If we’re not immediately available we will schedule the consultation as soon as possible. When we talk, you will get answers to your questions and specifics about who we are, what we do and how we can help. We’ll also share relevant information like fees, availability, and insurance procedures.

STEP 1

Select your therapist

We’ll help you find the right match for a therapist that best meets your needs and preferences. Learn more about our therapists on our About Us page. We can discuss how our therapists are trained, specialties, styles, and other factors that will help you make the right choice. We want to remind you that although we do our best to match you with the right therapist there is simply no substitution for meeting face-to-face.

STEP 2

Schedule your first session

We’ll work with you to schedule an initial session time that is most convenient. We work hard to balance our team’s schedules so that we don’t have to maintain a wait list. In most cases we will be able to get you scheduled within a week!

STEP 3

Have a welcome call with your therapist

Your therapist will call you personally before your first session for an introduction and welcome to the practice. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask more questions and start forming your relationship. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible starting your journey so please feel free to ask anything!

Attend your first appointment!
