Meet Duane

Duane Boyd is a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate.  He received his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University in 2019 and has completed training in
Emotionally Focused Therapy.  Prior to his Master’s degree, Duane earned a  Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology, with a concentration in Family and Group Psychology.

Duane has worked in construction, shipping, and as a mediator for co-worker disputes. Duane counsels people of all ages (from 5 to 105 years old) utilizing a variety of evidence-based techniques.  His passion is helping people be the best version of themselves. He does this by accepting clients for who they are and ensuring they maintain their autonomy. He is interested in helping people develop self-esteem, confidence, and satisfaction in their lives. In addition, he is skilled at drawing on each person’s resourcefulness and helps clients connect and unite with their loved to solve problems.

With couples and families, Duane identifies core strengths in the relationship(s) and brings clarity to ineffective communication patterns. He then guides family members in new, more effective communication strategies. He understands how hard life can be, the joy and pain that comes with relationships, and the challenges of parenting. He is here to listen, providing a safe space for you to explore and address your concerns.

Duane was born and raised in the Arvada/Wheat Ridge area and met his wife when they were just kids. Together they have raised five boys and enjoy being an active part in their sports, music, theater, scouting, and cultural experiences.
